Editing Extension Concepts

You can edit, deprecate, and undeprecate extension concepts from Ext. Concepts in the XBRL toolbar.

Find Extension Concept Use

First, find where the extension concept that you want to edit is used. Extensions that are removed from the document do not have a document location, but remain in the outline.

  1. Turn on XBRL and select the appropriate XBRL Profile, if it is not already selected.

  2. Click Ext. Concepts on the XBRL toolbar and get the name of the extension concept that you want to edit.

  3. Open the Locate XBRL panel on the right and search for the extension concept to see where it is used in the XBRL outline and document.

Edit Extension Concepts

To edit an extension concept:

  1. Click Ext. Concepts on the XBRL toolbar.

  2. Click the drop-down menu for the extension concept you want to edit and select Edit.

  3. Make the necessary changes and click the green checkmark to save the changes.

Deprecate Extension Concepts

Deprecate an extension concept when it should no longer be used.

  1. Click Ext. Concepts on the XBRL toolbar.

  2. Click the drop-down menu for the extension concept and select Deprecate.

    • A Deprecated symbol appears next to extension concepts that are deprecated.

    • If a fact is still using a deprecated extension concept, the concept is highlighted and the Deprecated symbol appears next to it in the Fact Details panel.

  3. To undeprecate an extension concept, click the drop-down menu and select Undeprecate.
