Adding an XBRL Outline

In Wdesk, you can import an entire XBRL outline into your document or create a new one by adding one section at a time.

Importing an XBRL Outline

Before importing, you must have a ZIP file that contains generated XBRL. During import, Wdesk includes the preferred labels and XBRL calculations for that outline.

To import an XBRL outline:

  1. Open the document and click Show XBRL.

  2. Select an XBRL Profile for the document.

  3. Go to the XBRL Outline tab on the left.

  4. From the XBRL Outline toolbar, click the Import XBRL Outline paperclip.

  5. Browse to and select the generated XBRL ZIP file you want to import.

  6. Click Import to finish.

  7. Wdesk provides a progress report as it imports the XBRL outline.

Creating a new XBRL Outline

Create a new XBRL outline by adding one section at a time and organizing it to match the structure of your document.

To create a new XBRL outline:

  1. Open the document and click Show XBRL.

  2. Select an XBRL Profile for the document.

  3. Open the XBRL Outline panel on the left.

  4. From the XBRL Outline toolbar, click Add Before.

  5. Find and select the taxonomy section you want to add.

  6. Add any other taxonomy sections you need and move them around to match the document structure.
