When you copy and paste XBRL tags into cells, move tags, or unhide cells, the tags need to be added to the XBRL outline and associated with the proper section. The Add/Re-Add function provides a simple way to add these concepts into the XBRL outline.
Adding Concepts to the Outline
When you Generate XBRL in a project, and if an XBRL concept is not included in the XBRL Outline, you will get an error message in your XBRL Generation Summary and Validation Results report. This can be caused by the concept or related Axis/Member combination not being included in the XBRL Outline, or by dimensionalized concepts that are not in the proper outline table structure:
The XBRL Validation Results will populate in the left-hand panel. If you are looking at a previous Generation Summary, click the View Validation Results button to open the XBRL Project Validation panel on the left and show the location of the concept.
Click on the document location link to find the concept in the document, then click the value to have the XBRL Detail Tagging window display that concept. In the top right-hand corner of the XBRL Detail Tagging window, click on the Add/Re-Add button.
The Select or Create XBRL Outline Section window is displayed. Here you can choose where in the XBRL outline the concept belongs. If the concept belongs in a new section, you can click the green plus sign to create a new section in the outline. When you have chosen where the concept belongs, click Finish.
Selecting An Optional Table Concept
Next you will have the option to select a Table Concept. If appropriate to the concept, choose a table. When you are done, click Finish.
Finally, on the XBRL tab, click the Share XBRL button to save and share the outline changes you have made.
Using Add/Re-Add to the XBRL Outline
Moving a [Table] item from one section of the XBRL Outline to another can be accomplished as follows:
In the document, select table values that represents the [Table] outline item that you want to move.
In the XBRL Detailed Tagging dialog box, select the Add/Re-add To XBRL Outline icon in the upper right.
This initiates the Select or Create XBRL Outline Section wizard, in which you can select another part of XBRL outline or create a new one as the new destination for the selected [Table] item and its facts. The wizard adds the elements needed to represent the tagged XBRL facts to the new destination.
You may need to add items to your outline. Specifically, structural elements that are not used on facts but need to be included. For example, [Domain] items need to be created manually.
