Getting Filing Documents for CIPC

To file Wdesk documents with CIPC, you need to generate iXBRL and download the generated files. Then submit the files to CIPC.

Generate and Download iXBRL Filing Documents

When filing with CIPC, here is how to get the necessary filing documents from Wdesk:

  1. Open your project in Wdesk and go to the Project Properties panel on the right.

  2. Click the XBRL tab and generate iXBRL if you have not already done this.

  3. Click the drop-down menu for the generation you want to use for filing and select Download iXBRL Filing Docs.

Wdesk downloads the filing documents as a ZIP file to your computer. Each file you download has a different name, which is based on your company.

  4. Double-click the ZIP file to extract the .xhtml file and drag the file to a location where it’s easy to find later. Do not change the name of any of the files. They are already named to meet CIPC requirements.

Extract .xhtml file

  1. If someone else is uploading the financial report and associated XBRL, then send them the .xhtml file through a secure channel (such as encrypted email) to make sure the XBRL is not compromised. This information is confidential.

  2. Login to CIPC eServices and upload your financial reports with your .xhtml file. If you need additional guidance on how to upload the documents, please review CIPC’s instructional manual.
