By the end of this guide, you'll be familiar with:
- how to know when you've got something to review
- how to access the content and make comments
- how to do this on a mobile device
When there's something ready for your review, you'll get an email with a direct link to the relevant content. If you've downloaded Wdesk Mobile, you'll also get a notification on your phone or tablet.
Either way, the link takes you straight to the content to be reviewed. As you make your way through the document, you can make a comment by following these the steps below.
Click the green Add comment button in the upper right corner.
Adjust the position of the blue comment bubble. It defaults to the upper right corner of the slide, but you can move closer to the content your comment pertains to.
Click Post. Once your comment is posted, you can delete, edit, or resolve it at any time.
To make a directed comment—one that notifies another user that there is something they should check out—type @ followed by the user's name. After a few letters, you'll see you can select the name from the dropdown list. When you click Post, this
will kick off a notification to the person(s) you've mentioned in the comment.
You can also use @here to notify everyone in a particular comment thread, or @[group name] to notify all users in a particular group. For instance, some teams set up groups like "Line of Business heads" or "Executive Team" so they can notify multiple
people at one time.
Regardless of what kind of comment you're making, it's important to know these are visible to anyone with access to the document. A directed comment isn't private between you and the person mentioned.
For anyone reviewing things in Wdesk, downloading Wdesk Mobile is a must. It's free and available to any user from the App Store or Google Play, and it makes it easy to review and comment whether you're in the office or not.
