Directed commenting allows you to direct a comment to a specific user in Wdesk, and have them receive an email notification. When adding a comment, you can now @ mention other users with permissions to the account.
TIP: The tag @here is a special tag which notifies all users in the comment thread:
The @ mention tags the user in the comment and sends a notification email to the user upon posting.
The mentioned user shows as bolded text within the comment once posted.
You can @ mention any groups that are set up within your organization within Wdesk, and the whole group will be notified. The groups will notify everyone in the group, so make sure a comment is appropriate to all within a group.
It is important to remember that groups are derived from permission settings. You may want to review the members of a particular group prior to using an @ mention targeted to a group.
The email notification the mentioned user receives contains a Go to comment button as well as a link that takes you directly to the comment in the document. The text of a comment is not included in the email to maintain confidentiality.
If you receive Directed Comment email notifications frequently, notifications can be bundled so that you receive multiple notifications at once. To control how often you receive them, in Admin go to the Settings tab, and on the General tab click the Edit Settings button. The Edit General Settings box is displayed.
You can turn Delayed Email Notification on or off, or set the minimum and maximum delay times, depending on how often you’d like to receive notifications.
