The Evidence Viewer provides an easy way to see and markup evidence, allowing you to quickly test the attributes required for your test form.
Using the Evidence Viewer
Once you are assigned a form to test, you can find that task on your Testing dashboard. Click Testing in the left navigation menu and select Tester from the testing menu.
In the Testing view of the dashboard, click the icon next to the task you want to access. This will open the relevant test form.
In your test form, click on a Test Phase. In the Attribute Testing table, click the folder icon under the Files column to open the Evidence Viewer and load evidence for the folder you selected.
The Evidence Viewer will open in a new tab, displaying all sample evidence for the current test form in the left-hand panel. The selected sample will appear in the main window. Click another sample in the left-hand outline panel if you would like to see it displayed in the Evidence Viewer window. The following file types can be opened in the evidence viewer:
Text: .doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt
Spreadsheets: .xls, .xlsx, .csv
Presentations: .ppt, .pptx
Images: .pdf, .png, .gif, .jpg
Mail files: .msg
If you have multiple attribute matrices on your current test phase, use the outline panel to navigate between them.
Zoom and fit options in the toolbar aid in focusing on the portions of the sample that are important for your testing.
Using Markup Tools
When conducting your testing, you can annotate your sample using several markup tools. You can add shapes, lines, text, and symbols to your samples to communicate important information to others. Select a tool and click and drag to mark the evidence.
Markup annotations can also be edited after they have been placed. Click the Select tool in the toolbar, choose the markup shape you want to change, and resize it as appropriate. You can also copy and paste any amount of markup from one sample to another.
If you need to remove markup, click the Select tool, choose the shape to be deleted, then click the Remove button on the toolbar or press Backspace on your keyboard. To remove all markup on your current sample only, click the Clear All button. You will be asked to confirm before all markup shapes are deleted.
Marking Test Attributes
The right-hand panel has a list of attributes generated from the Test Steps/Attributes section of the associated test form. For more information on creating testing attributes, see Preparing Your Test Form.
To learn more about an attribute, click on it to expand it. Footnotes associated with attributes will display, and you can add or edit other footnotes.
You can drag attributes from the right-hand panel onto your sample in the Evidence Viewer to note sections of the sample that are part of your testing.
In the image below, an attribute has been created to verify signatures, and has been dragged onto the signature area of an invoice.
You can have multiple instances of one attribute on any given sample, or multiple attributes, based on the test steps you have created.
Below the markup area in the Evidence Viewer, you can see your Testing Attributes table. From here, you can double-click on the attribute status to display a drop-down and select whether a test step has passed or failed. Attribute selections in the Evidence Viewer will also display in the selected attribute matrix of the associated test form.
You may have instances of markup spread across multiple pages on your evidence.
To find markups or attributes, click on the markup search icon at the top left of the Attribute Testing panel. The drop down allows you to search by All Markup, All Attributes or specific attributes.
Once you choose a search item, the number of instances of that markup will appear in the search field and you will be able to jump forwards and backwards on your evidence from instance to instance of that markup using the up and down arrows to the right. This will jump you to the next instance of that attribute.
If your sample is a multipage document, you will jump to the next page containing that particular attribute or markup.
If you want to share your documents with users outside of Wdesk, you can right-click them in the Evidence Viewer and download them as PDF files. You can also select Export as PDF with markup, and the PDF will retain all the markup you’ve added to the sample.
