Support and Feature Roles

Support and feature roles allow you to grant limited access to Wdesk as needed. Support roles in Database include Process Owner, Control Owner and External Auditor. These support roles have the following capabilities:

Process and Control Owner Roles

As a Process Owner or Control Owner, you will have the following capabilities:

  • Access to Report Listings
  • Ability to Open and View Reports
  • Access to Dashboards
  • Ability to Open and View Dashboards

To access reports, choose Reports in the left-hand navigation menu. The reports that appear here are based on the permissions for individual reports. Choose a report from the list to open. As a Process or Control Owner you will be able to open and view reports, but not create or edit report layouts.

You will also have the ability to access dashboards. Go to Dashboards in the left-hand menu. Click on a dashboard title to open. As Process or Control Owner you will be able to open and view dashboards, but not create or edit them.

External Auditor Role

An External Auditor in Wdesk Database will have the same capabilities as the Process and Control Owners outlined above in relation to reports and dashboards and will also have the following capabilities:

  • Access to Test Forms
  • View and Export Test Forms

To access the listing of test forms, click Testing in the left-hand navigation menu.

Then choose a specific test form is chosen from the list. The form is read-only, so you will not be able to make changes. As an External Auditor, you will have access to the Overview tab by default.

If an additional test phase such as Interim has been set to a designated status such as Ready for External Audit Review, you will also be able to see that test phase.

An External Auditor will also have the capability to export the test form if desired. The export will include the Overview and test phases available to the auditor.

Feature Roles

Feature Roles provide more granular control of Wdesk. If you need additional or alternate roles for specific features, contact your CSM. Feature roles can be assigned along with Support Roles if more access is needed.
